Digital Photography is nothing short of amazing. But old fashioned film is now the best it’s ever been. It’s razor sharp with beautiful tonality, fine grain and amazing speed. Images captured on today’s film emulsions can be breathtaking. And keep in mind that film is only one short scan step away from being a digital file, so most of the advantages of digital photography can be extended to film photography. Plus, a good quality piece of film can be enlarged to mural sizes.

To get close to film quality with a digital camera, you must have a top notch digital camera with a high megapixel rating, and you have to shoot in camera raw at maximum resolution.

Most of the photos on our site were created on film and converted to digital. All of them could easily be made into huge murals with little or no loss in quality. So don’t count film out yet. When the ultimate image quality is essential, the film camera might be worth considering.
